Changes and New Features in 4.0.3:
• Compatibility with Mac OS 8:
– Mac OS 8 Includes a new file called Appearance Extension which must successfully be enabled for Mac OS 8 to startup. Previous versions of Conflict Catcher could disable this extension and therefore keep machines running Mac OS 8 from starting up. Conflict Catcher v4.0.3 will not allow this file to be disabled.
– Other minor changes necessary to support Mac OS 8, including new sets.
• Added Find and Find Again commands to the File menu.
• Type selection (from within the main window, Conflict Catcher will find a file if you type the first character(s) of the file name), Tab, and Arrow Keys will auto-expand categories to display files.
• Duplicating sets will now select the new set.
• Added Scan Startup Files to the Special menu for easier access.
New Feature in 4.0.2:
Links can now be broken for quick access to individual files.
•Individual files can now be broken off their links. This enables users to break their grouped links for quick access to a single file. You no longer have to accept an “all or nothing” approach to link management. Users can now choose to break one link from an entire group instead of editing the master link, disabling the link entirely, or creating a new link.
To break a file’s link:
1. Open Conflict Catcher™.
2. Use the magnifying glass on the file you wish to break from the link.
3. Click on the “Break Link” button in the upper right hand corner of the file’s info.
Other Changes between 4.0.1 and 4.0.2:
• The English version of Conflict Catcher 4 now supports international language systems.
• Group links have been updated.
• On-Line help has been updated.
• Updated built-in sets for System 7.6 and 7.6.1.
• Fixed a potential problem with “Edit File Types” preferences
• CC4 now displays more characters in the version string within the magnifying glass window.
• The installer offers to reenable your Apple's Extension Manager upon removal of Conflict Catcher.
Conflict Catcher Help:
Conflict Catcher 4 supports Balloon help and has its own help system. We recommend that you use both when exploring the various features. It is also a good idea to walk through the preferences and try things that sound interesting.
Here are some features you don't want to overlook:
